1919 Vintage Lawn Party

8thAnnual “Gala Day”

Saturday June 15 from 10-3

Rain-date June 16th

Let’s turn back the calendar to 1919!  Full of historic pageantry, the festivities will be complete right down to our throwback admission price of 25 cents!

Visit the Rebecca Nurse Homestead as we host the 8th annual Gala Day. The very first one was held at The Rebecca Nurse Homestead in 1912 right after becoming a museum.  A "Gala Day & Garden Party" was held to welcome the local community to an open house to enjoy our community’s local history and everything the homestead has to offer, and we are taking you back in time to experience that event.

Listen to Edwardian music, play period-style lawn games, see people dressed in clothing of the time.  Back by popular demand we will once again have a limited run of the Nurse Homestead's famous Strawberry Shortcakes (on sale at 11am), get them while they last!  There will also be other tasty treats and drinks for sale.

Admission: Suggested donation of 25¢

Free to our Preservation Society members!
