Over the course of multiple summers the Rebecca Nurse Homestead in Danvers was at the center of a summer archaeology program run by the University of Southern Maine in conjunction with Philips Andover Academy.  Thousands of artifacts were recovered giving a glimpse into the lives of the people who have walked these grounds throughout the years.  It also proves there is a history here which predates colonial settlement.
To properly display these pieces to the public we have opened a new permanent exhibit space in the Nurse Home. The "Green Room" is an 18th century parlor that has not been seen by the public in decades.  As part of the grand opening we will be hosting a formal lecture with Professor Nate Hamilton and Heather Froshour from the University of Southern Maine.
