Iron Work Farm in Acton, Inc.
Iron Work Farm in Acton, Inc., is a nonprofit educational organization formed in 1964 to rescue the 1732 Jones Tavern from demolition. In 1969, Iron Work Farm acquired the six-acre Faulkner Homestead and its 1707 Jones-Faulkner House (below), the oldest building in Acton.
Our mission is to study the documents and to promote the preservation of the historic resources associated with South Acton village. In addition to our annual events, we offer programming and events including:
- Open-houses (April through October)
- Hands-on history demos
- School field trips
Iron Work Farm in Acton is named for the 1,000-acre plantation that is the origin of most of present-day South Acton.
