The Right To Liberty: Stories of African Americans at the Time of the American Revolution

Everyone dreamed of freedom during the Revolution, especially Black Americans. Realizing that the popular rhetoric of the revolution was not meant to include them, many paved their own way to a new life of liberty and happiness.
