The Lorenzo Cultural Center presents “The Early Days of Radio in Michigan,” as part of “The Roaring Twenties: From Riches to Rags” series. Program Source International’s Al and Dave Eicher present the history of the first commercial radio stations and programs. Beginning in the 1920s, public interest in radio set sales skyrocketing, and radio became an American pastime, with some of the best shows originating from Detroit, Chicago, and New York City.
