On Saturday, August 4, come watch “Horse Feathers” (1932) a classic comedy from the Marx Brothers. Groucho Marx is cast as Professor Quincy Adams Wagstaff, the newest president of Huxley College. His son, Frank (Zeppo Marx) has been a Huxley student for 12 years. With the college in trouble, Groucho must hire a couple of good football players, Mullen and McHardie (Jim Pierce and Nat Pendleton). Unfortunately, he signs up the wrong men for the Huxley team: Baravelli (Chico Marx), the ice man/bootlegger, and Pinky (Harpo Marx) the dog catcher.
Gates open at 7:30 p.m. for picnics with the show starting after 8:00 p.m. These special screenings will take place on the lawn near the Palms Depot. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to sit on, a small picnic to eat before the movies begin, and warm clothing. Beverages and snacks will be available with suggested donation.
