A National Historic Landmark, the 1686 Quincy Homestead is hosting public Historic House Tours for the 2019 season on certain Saturdays from June 1 to September 21;  hours are from 11:00am to 2:30pm, with the last tour beginning at 2:00pm.  Tour a fascinating piece of American history;  the Quincy Homestead represents construction from three different periods, providing an excellent illustration of how architectural styles developed during the Colonial period.  The original house dates to 1686.  In 1706, extensive additions were made to the original structure and the Homestead did not emerge in its current form until in the mid-18th century.

In your visit to the Quincy Homestead, you can learn more about the members of the influential Quincy family, who lived in the house, and their connection to John Hancock.  The Homestead includes antique furniture and artifacts, as well glimpses into the evolution of the structure over time.  Come visit, enjoy the beautiful house and stroll through the gardens.  Experience the tangible sense of history! Since 1904, the Homestead has been owned by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and is operated by the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) in cooperation with the NSCDA-MA (Colonial Dames of MA).  For more information, please visit www.nscdama.org or find us on Facebook at Quincy Homestead 1686.

There is no admission charge for the public Tours, but donations are gratefully welcomed;  and private group Tours, for which there is a charge, can be booked by appointment, by calling 617-742-3190.
