Visitors of all ages are invited to celebrate the arrival of spring on Saturday, May 1 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Pottsgrove Manor’s Annual Colonial Mayfair. This outdoor event is a suggested $2 donation and brings an 18th-century style market fair to life with vendors, performances, and living history demonstrations that everyone can enjoy.

Start the day by gathering around the colorful Maypole and then laugh along with Tucker’s Tales historic puppet shows and songs. Stroll through the vendor tents to see what hand made items are available. Living history demonstrations highlight the crafts and trades that were practiced in colonial Pennsylvania, from sewing and textile work to beer brewing and shoe making. See what plants are appearing in the kitchen garden and then discover what historic foods are being created in the outdoor bake-oven. The first floor of the historic home of the Potts family will be open for visitors. Kids can grab take-home crafts to keep the history going at home. Join in and play historic games and meet with some cheerful characters who roam about the fair. Welcome the arrival of spring with history at Mayfair.

The public is asked to register before attending the Colonial Mayfair at www.montcopa.org/pottsgrovemanor. Follow on-site directions for parking. This program is rain or shine.
