A Land Grant town Las Vegas Grandes was also known as Neustra Senora de las Vegas.  An important stop of the Santa Fe Trail, a stop of the AT&SR Railroad by the 1880s, Las Vegas has been a crossroads for the eastern half of New Mexico.

The three day conference will include over 60 lectures by experts on topics ranging from military, homesteading, trails, and many topics related to the Eastern region of New Mexico, especially San Miguel County.

Highlands University Student Union

The new and beautifully green and state-of-the-art building will be where all the lectures, vendors, exhibits and sessions will take place; Located on the Highlands Campus at 8th Street and National Avenue.

Plaza Hotel

The historic Plaza Hotel built in 1882 will be the conference main lodging facility.  Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, you step right into the past.  The Awards Ceremony and other banquet facilities will be held here.
