The Marquette Regional History Center presents “Marquette, the Frisbee Sanctuary.” The sport of Frisbee goes back nearly 50 years in Marquette, and the city was designated an official Frisbee Sanctuary back in 1975 by Wham-O Manufacturing Co., the maker of the Frisbee. Local Frisbee activist Craig “Buck” Buchanan is lobbying to have the World Ultimate Frisbee Championships in Marquette. Attendees will enjoy his historical review of the Frisbee, see demonstrations, and try their hand at the sport.
