Storrowton Village Museum will celebrate all things maple at this free event highlighting the history, folklore and tradition of maple sugaring in New England.

At our simple sugar camp, visitors will learn how the “liquid gold” is made, from tree tapping to sap boiling.  Docent-led tours, open hearth cooking and 19th century craft demonstrations will also be offered in the historic Gilbert Farmhouse.

A selection of maple products will be available for purchase.

Between 10am and noon, bring the family into the Village’s red Greenwich Barn where the West Springfield Lions Club will flip pancakes and serve them with pure New England maple syrup.  Enjoy a tasty plate with a side of sausages and coffee or juice for $5 per person.  All proceeds from the pancake breakfast will be donated to Storrowton’s educational programs.
