We're continuing a longstanding Forbes House tradition and celebrating the 140th birthday of Mary Bowditch Forbes, the woman who started it all. Bring the family, and a picnic blanket or lawn chair and join us!

Schedule of Events

1:00 p.m. Lincoln Essay and Drawing Contest Awards Ceremony

2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Live Civil War Era music played by Dixon's Gold; reenactments by the 22nd Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry and U.S. Sanitary Commission; vintage video footage from Lincoln Day celebrations in the 1920's; tours of the new temporary exhibit "Mary Bowditch Forbes's Lincoln Cabin: Preservation of the Past, Education for the Future."

Directions/Transportation/Parking

Limited parking is available behind the Museum. Street parking is also available and there will be police on duty to direct traffic.

By public transportation from Boston: Take the Red Line outbound to Ashmont. Upstairs, take the Mattapan trolley three stops to Milton station. At the top of the stairs, turn left onto Adams Street. Walk approximately 0.4 miles. The Museum is on the right at the crest of the hill.
