Lanterns and Legends

PHS is pleased to announce the Lanterns and Legends Tours at the Old Washington County Jail! Tours will take place with lanterns and minimal light. Guides will share local stories of brazen murders, gruesome executions, and supposed vampires as they show grim artifacts from the PHS collection not usually on display.

Lanterns and Legends will run on Thursday and Saturday evenings from October 15-29. Tours will run at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., and 8 p.m. (Children are encouraged to attend 6 p.m. family-friendlier tours). 

Private group tours can be arranged for up to ten people. Please contact us for details. 

Unfortunately, due to its many staircases, the historic Jail is not handicapped-accessible.

Adult $15

PHS Members $10

Students with ID $10

Children (5-12) $10

Tickets are available through the PHS website, www.pettaquamscutt.org, or by phone at 401-783-1328, or in person at the Old Washington County Jail prior to the day of event. Space is limited.

Lanterns can be purchased (+ $7.00) with tickets to be used on the tour and taken home.
