Explore New England furniture with this in-depth workshop. Historic New England Senior Curator Nancy Carlisle and furniture conservator John Childs lecture on furniture made and used in New England from the seventeenth to the mid-nineteenth century. Topics include regional variations in style, changing shop practices, consumer patterns, craftsmanship, and technology. Participants examine original pieces from Historic New England’s extensive collection up close. The course concludes with a tour of the collections storage area.
