EXHIBITION OPENS at the NEBRASKA HISTORY MUSEUM, 15th & P, LINCOLN

Long before celebrity mugshots were as close as your smart phone, Nebraska law enforcement used photographs to identify the arrested and convicted. "Doing Hard Time: Historic Nebraska Mug Shots" takes a look at some of the miscreants whose images were captured by the Nebraska State Penitentiary and the Omaha Police Court in the 1890s-1910s. Some of their stories, along with select newspaper accounts, offer a fascinating look at how the world of criminal justice has changed, and stayed the same.

Visit the Nebraska History Museum, 15th & P Streets, Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday, 1:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. now through February 13, 2013.
