Workshop for Caretakers of Cultural Agencies

Wistariahurst Museum in collaboration with The Pioneer Valley History Network (PVHN) and University Products of Holyoke are excited to bring to staff, volunteers, and trustees of cultural agencies in the Pioneer Valley and
Western Massachusetts this half-day workshop.

Instructor Camille Myers Breeze of Museum Textile Services, will provide hands-on introductory training on how to safely handle, surface clean, re-house, and stabilize vulnerable historic clothing and textiles.

Space is limited so register early.
Efforts have been made to make this workshop affordable for smaller institutions with limited budgets.

Located in historic Holyoke, Massachusetts, one of the first planned industrial cities, and birthplace of Volleyball, the Museum has easy access to Interstate Route 91, the Mass Turnpike and Route 202.

From I-91 North:
Take Exit 16 (Route 202/Soldier’s Home exit)
Bear right off the exit

From I-91 South:
Take Exit 16 (Route 202/Soldier’s Home exit)
Turn left at the end of the ramp

You will be on Cherry Street–it turns into Beech Street. Proceed through 6 Traffic lights – Hillside Avenue, the Yankee Pedlar, Holyoke Hospital, Holyoke High School, Franklin Street & Sargeant Street. After the sixth light you will go through the Intersection of Hampshire and Beech Streets. Wistariahurst Museum is on the right. The building and grounds occupy an entire block; the property is surrounded by a stone wall with wrought iron fencing.
