Bring Your Own Adult Spring Break Workshops - History Colorado Center

Looking for Spring Break activities? Join History Colorado for a series of Spring Break Colorado workshops.  Each day from March 25–29 we'll explore a different topic in Colorado history.  Come for one workshop or sign up for all five! 

These workshops are BYOA: Bring Your Own Adult! They are designed for kids (grades 3 through 5) and adults to learn together in a hands-on way.

Monday and Tuesday workshops take place from 10 am to noon. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday workshops take place from 10 am to noon and 1 to 3 pm.

Monday through Thursday workshops are $15 per member pair; $20 per nonmember pair; and $10 per additional child.

The Friday LEGO workshop is $40 per member pair; $45 per non-member pair; and $25 per additional child.

March 25: Denver Diorama Workshop
Learn about life in early Denver by exploring the Denver Diorama. Then make your own diorama out of found materials, LEGO bricks, clay, and much more.

March 26: La Buena Tierra Workshop - The Good Earth of the Southwest
Learn the planting and growing techniques of our ancient ancestors.  In this workshop focusing on the plants, and their uses, of the southwest participants will design a Three Sisters garden, grind corn to make corn meal, make homemade corn tortillas and compete in a salsa cookoff with other workshop participants.

March 27:  Wooly Workshop
Join History Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Weavers Guild and learn about the process of wool from sheep to shirt. We'll start with raw wool, card it, spin it, dye it, and weave it all in this immersive hands-on workshop designed for parent/child pairs.

March 28:  History CSI
Ever wonder how Crime Scene Investigators can learn so much from just a few details? Learn some of the tools and techniques in this workshop.

March 29:  LEGO-rado
Learn about the built environment of Colorado, and the tools of building with LEGOs.  Led by the wonderful builders from the Colorado Wyoming Lego Users Group (CoWLUG) this workshop will go over some more advanced LEGO brick building skills and everyone will leave with a brand new set of LEGO bricks!
