The Loxahatchee Battlefield Preservationists organizes the annual Battle of the Loxahatchee Reenactment at Loxahatchee River Battlefield Park, the location of both the original Battle of the Loxahatchee and its annual reenactment. The group is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preservation and education of a 6,000-year-old ancient Indian occupation area and the site of two major battles of the Second Seminole War located along the wild and scenic cypress laden Loxahatchee River now known as Loxahatchee River Battlefield Park.
