Historic Sugartown, Inc. preserves the 19th-century village of Sugartown, located outside of Malvern. Named after tavern keeper Eli Shugart, Sugartown became a bustling village corner during the late 1800s, bringing people together to exchange news, conduct business and share their lives as a community.  Today, Historic Sugartown inspires people to value and connect with America’s past through richly authentic historical experiences and the enduring preservation of the vibrant 19th-century crossroads village. Historic Sugartown stewards nine historic structures and 4.2 acres of open space under conservation easement with Willistown Conservation Trust. Historic Sugartown also maintains a Carriage Museum that showcases a rare collection of historic carriages and sleighs in partnership with the Chester County Historical Society.

Historic Sugartown offers guided tours of the General Store, Carriage Museum, Garrett House, Book Bindery & Studio, and Pennsylvania Bank Barn on Saturdays, 11 am – 4 pm and Sundays, 1 – 4 pm through December 14th.  School and group tours are also available.
