The Friends of Fort Taylor produce a number of annual events that help our fund-raising efforts. These include: Fort Taylor Civil War Heritage Days in February and The Fort Taylor Pirate Invasion, held the first weekend of each December. Monies earned from these events and other events are used in the continuing efforts to help the parks resources.

The Friends of Fort Taylor is a volunteer, non-profit, citizen support organization created and dedicated to generate public awareness and financial support for the preservation and maintenance of Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park. Our role is one of advocacy for the historical, educational and ecological enhancement of the Park, a National Historic Landmark.

We work with the State of Florida to preserve and interpret Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Parks resources. Foremost is Fort Taylor a National Historic Landmark. The Friends of Fort Taylor is comprised of people just like you who have an interest in the park. The Friends also financially assist Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park by funding park projects that may not have been budgeted.
