Women’s Work: Grandma Ran a Boarding House and Momma Brewed Beer

    Improve listing Presented by

Presented by genealogist Charlene Sokal.

The focus of this talk is women who ran their own businesses, mostly in the 19th century.  There were at least three wars of some length and a number of shorter term wars where women were left to keep themselves and their families with little or no help from menfolk.  How does one know who they were, what they did and for what period of time this continued? We will use differing sources to locate these women.
