I am writing with the hope that you will join us for a stellar symposium at which thirty-two speakers, including the presidents of the AAM and the AIC, will present on topics intended to create buzz and discussion. Sessions include revitalizing interpretation; ensuring museums matter; audience shifts; balancing intellectual relevance and popular interest; the marketplace and its influence on collecting; technology; conserving modern materials; the role of cultural heritage professionals in natural disasters and illicit trade, and much more. Additional symposium activities include roundtable discussions and tours of collections and conservation labs. Presented in celebration of Winterthur’s programs in material culture and conservation, speakers include alumni and colleagues in their respective fields. The program offers tremendous networking opportunities and we hope you will join us.
