War Meets Compassion, The Confederate Field Hospital

Experience this Confederate field hospital at the site of the historic Daniel Lady Farm. Demonstrations will include pill making during the 1860s, minor surgery such as bullet extraction, interactive programs, "brain surgery", amputations, medical paperwork and presentations on medical instruments. Camps will be set up throughout the week and Infantry and Infirmary Corps will perform drills.

A kick-off event, Attack of Culp's Hill, will take place on Friday, June 28 from noon - 6pm. The Daniel Lady Farm will open to the public for living history programs on June 28 and 30 from noon - 6pm and daily, July 1-4 from 9 am - 6pm. 

Food vendors will be on site. Bring your lawn chair. Free parking is provided. This event is hosted by the Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association and the Florida Regimental Medical Department.
