Victorian Christmas Open House at Historic Pennypacker Mills

The sights and sounds of Christmas come alive at the Victorian Christmas Open House on Saturday, December 12th from 2 pm to 8 pm. This FREE event brings the added holiday touch of living historians throughout the mansion, a bell choir performing seasonal music as you enter the mansion and a jolly laugh from our Victorian Santa Claus who will greet children and adults to share their Christmas wishes. Walk through two floors of PA Governor Samuel Pennypacker's home to see beautifully decorated rooms for the Christmas holiday. Homemade ornaments and imported German glass balls adorn the Christmas tree, lustrous ribbons and shiny glass strands of beads flow through mantle greens while decorated wreathes add a holiday touch to windowsills.  Kerosene lamps and candles are placed to bring the magical glow of the holiday season to light throughout the mansion at a time when electricity was not available here.

See how Clear Toy Candy is made in the kitchen with molds and molten sugar in the colors of red, green and yellow.

Bring the whole family for a Victorian Christmas experience that will capture the spirit of the holidays!

From vintage inspired decorations to gift items, books, to old-fashioned candies (Wilbur Buds & Clear Toy Candy), and much more, visit the Museum Shop and bring a bit of Victorian style to your home. Located on the second floor of the mansion, the Shop is available throughout the holiday season and accepts cash, checks and credit cards.
