UMA 2014 Annual Conference

September 30 - October 2, 2014
Cedar City, UT

Our world and our museum visitors are ever changing. More than ever, museums need to adapt, reinvent, or transform themselves in order to maintain their relevance to their communities. Predicting what your audience will look like in the coming months and years and how your programming and exhibitions will relate to them will be essential for your institutions sustainability.

The Utah Museums Association’s 2014 Conference theme: Storytelling for the Future speaks to the necessity of making our past relevant to the present and beyond. We all have necessary stories to tell and how we allow ourselves and our objects to communicate those stories determines our success. Our stories, and how we share them, must connect to our present communities and inform our future directions.

Conference sessions will be divided into three tracks:

  • Collections & Exhibitions
  • Education & Programming
  • Museum Operations (fundraising, marketing, board management, advocacy, etc.)
