The Suffrage Movement: Bloomers to Banners and How Women Finally Won

    Improve listing Presented by

We are approaching the 100th anniversary of women's right to vote, as the 19th amendment was ratified in 1920. Colleen Janz, who was curator of the Susan B Anthony Museum for 6 years, will discuss how dress reform, transportation reform, the creation of breakfast cereal, and the ability for women to congregate from the temperance movement, all led to women winning the vote. "Bloomers to Banners" speaks to these topics which are rarely covered or linked together in text books. April is also our short annual meeting and election, which will be held prior to her presentation.
