Join the Smithsonian’s Richard Kurin and History Center President and CEO Andy Masich for a public program about the new best-selling book, “The Smithsonian’s History of America in 101 Objects.”

Kurin and Masich will discuss the iconic artifacts in the Smithsonian collection that reflect key moments in American history, like President Lincoln’s stovepipe hat, George Washington’s sword, Dorothy’s ruby slippers from “The Wizard of Oz,” and Neil Armstrong’s spacesuit from his famous landing on the moon. Learn how Kurin and his team determined which objects made the cut for the book and which ones have ties to Western Pa.

Following the talk, Kurin will be on hand to sign copies of the book, which will be available for purchase in the History Center’s Museum Shop.
