The Life of a Civil War Soldier

Reenactor Mark Mello will take us on a journey back in time to the American Civil War. Usually when we talk about the war, historians discuss the battles, the politics, or the major figures. Although these produce engaging discussions, they fail to recognize who the average soldier was in the war. We forget that behind the numbers, the statistics, the battle plans were human beings.. They felt the same emotions as us, they breathed the same air. The only difference between them and us is that they were born into a different time. They were the average people of their time.  We will discover why they fought, what they endured, and discuss the importance of their sacrifices.
