The Indigenous Peoples of Dedham

    Improve listing Presented by

Before settlers arrived in Dedham, the land was home to Native Americans. Learn about the people who stewarded and lived on the land before European contact, the relationships between English settlers of Dedham and their Indigenous neighbors during the 17th and 18th centuries, and the legacies of these histories today. Scholar Gail Coughlin, who is writing a book on the Indigenous histories of Dedham and surrounding communities, will speak on the topic.

The Society's Annual Meeting will be held at 7:00 before the lecture. The public is welcome.

The Ben Fisher Lecture will be held at the Dedham Historical Society & Museum, 612 High Street, Dedham. It will follow the Society's brief Annual Meeting. For information, call DHSM at 781.326.1385 or visit www.dedhamhistorical.org. Street parking is available; a free public lot is two blocks away (www.dedhamsquarecircle.org/directions).
