The Houghton Sprague Garrison House: A Historical Detective Story

The Houghton Sprague Garrison House  was built in the late 1600's. This Garrison is thought to be the oldest remaining house in Harvard. A Garrison was a fortified house where the settlers would gather in times of danger.  This house remained in the care of only a few families since it was built.  It is a fascinating example of a very early New England house. Robert Adam, a noted preservation specialist, is currently working on an extensive historic restoration and will share details of his detective work on the house.

Come learn what tales these walls can tell from Robert Adam, historic preservation specialist, Sept 24th at 7pm at the HHS.  Admission is free, donation suggested.  Handicapped accessible.
