Take this photographic and historic journey to the North Shore to experience the American Downton Abbey, the Crane Estate in Ipswich. While Lord and Lady Grantham may not be the residents of this magnificent architectural feat, the Crane Family led colorful lives expected of the early 20th century elite. Join Cultural Site Administrator, Robin Donovan Bocchiaro, as she unravels the history of this sprawling estate and its inhabitants. 1920s costumes in celebration of Halloween are encouraged! (though not required)

Robin Donovan Bocchiaro is the Cultural Site Administrator at Castle Hill on the Crane Estate, running the tour program and the guest services department for the Great House. She earned her Bachelor's in Anthropology with a History minor from the University of Vermont and her Master's in Education from Northern Vermont University at Johnson. In addition to Castle Hill, Robin has also worked at the Paul Revere House and the Bostonian Society. Work for the Bostonian Society included research on the Hancock estate for their Through the Keyhole exhibit and designing part of the Past Meets Present program around Mercy Otis Warren. Her current work at Castle Hill includes strengthening the educational goals of the school group program and developing an English Language Arts and History program for The Great Gatsby.
