Storytelling at the Museum

These programs engage our youngest visitors and their families in historic objects and museum settings by using traditional and contemporary story books.  Children will also enjoy a hands-on craft or other activity.  Each 45-minute session is Free.  Programs are held Fridays at 10:30 in the museum’s galleries and on Saturdays in a classroom.  Stories are recommended for children ages 2-5.  Kids only!  Adults welcome with children.  Check with the Information Desk for locations.

*Storytelling Workshops return for the winter!  The classroom-turned-kidzone is now open from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays.  Storytelling will still take place at 10:30 a.m., but join us before or after storytelling to play with puppets, make crafts, build a puzzle or escape to the rainbow retreat to read stories on your own.

Please Note: Groups with 6 or more children must call 314-454-3114 for chaperone requirements and to make reservations for an alternate day and time.  Groups of 6 or more will not be permitted to attend at the regularly scheduled program.  This program is an enriching individualized experience that works best with small groups.  Group reservations will result in a higher quality experience for the group.
