ABOUT THE MARY E: The Mary E is a 75-foot gaffe rigged schooner built in 1906. She is one of the last remaining vessels built in Bath, Maine in that time period and has served as a cargo ship, an official United States mail carrier, a sword fishing vessel, a private yacht and an excursion boat. She is a member of the American Sail Training Associations, helping to keep the traditions of the sea alive.
