Processing Audiovisual Collections

Two-Hour Webinar: Missing labels, obsolete technologies, and unrecognizable formats often cause audiovisual collections to be excluded from traditional archival processing. Lacking understandable content or descriptions, media collections are sometimes difficult to fit into traditional catalogue records or finding aids. But with the pressure of format obsolescence, it’s time to embrace those AV formats and add them to workflows alongside typical paper collections. Ingest and processing methods, descriptive standards for archive and libraries, and safe handling methods will be discussed.
