The Dedham Historical Society & Museum has postponed its March programming. This performance will be rescheduled for a time later in 2020. The DHSM will continue to monitor the situation relating to COVID-19, ever mindful that the health and safety of staff, volunteers, and visitors is of the utmost importance. The DHSM will keep the public notified regarding additional upcoming programs. For information on the museum, archives, and events, please visit https://dedhamhistorical.org/

Here are details for when the event is rescheduled:  Join us for the rare opportunity—and the first ever at the DHSM—to hear Amaranti Ensemble perform music from the late 18th and early 19th centuries on baroque flute and harpsichord.  In addition to early music from England and Spain, a very special offering of music will be performed from the archives of the DHSM, specifically from “A Favourite Selection of Music: Adapted to the Piano Forte.” This book of “Songs, Airs, Marches, etc.” was printed and sold by Herman Mann of Dedham in 1806. Among the published songs and dances are “Address to a Tuft of Violets,” “Cottage in the Grove,” “Drink to me Only, a Favorite Glee,” “Bonny Doon,” and others. Don’t miss this magical performance.
