The Boston Public Library together with American Ancestors presents the second virtual event in the American Stories, Inspiration Today author series.

Phuc Tran will discuss his memoir Sigh, Gone: A Misfit's Memoir of Great Books, Punk Rock, and the Fight to Fit In. In 1975, two-year-old Phuc and his family fled Saigon, Vietnam, for Carlisle, Pennsylvania; and there began his tale of assimilation. Now settled in Portland, Maine, by way of Bard College and work in New York City, he continues in his career as a Latin teacher, linguist, and tattoo artist. Don't miss hearing about his experience of "The American Dream."
