Party for the Ocean: Wind and Waves

    Improve listing Presented by

Learn how to harness the power of wind and waves, investigate how marine animals adapt to windy, wavy habitats, and meet people who are working to protect marine and coastal environments. Taking inspiration from the exhibition "De Wind is Op! Climate, Culture and Innovation in Dutch Maritime Painting," create your own work of art.
The Whale Guitar, a one-of-a-kind, hand-made electric guitar in the shape of a sperm whale, will be making an appearance as well. Activities in the Museum’s Jacobs Family Gallery are free for everyone! Access to the Museum’s other exhibits and galleries is subject to regular admission fees (free for Museum members).Party for the Ocean is presented in partnership with Buttonwood Park Zoo, Buzzards Bay Coalition, Lloyd Center for the Environment, National Marine Life Center, and The Whale Guitar Project. #PartyForTheOcean is one of three special family events this summer on #WindAndWavesWednesdays, which are supported in part by a grant from the New Bedford Local Cultural Council, a local agency that is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
