Partisanship and the Founders

Join us this election year to learn from renowned historian Ray Raphael on the formation of the American presidency. Raphael’s recently published book, Mr. President: How and Why the Founders Created a Chief Executive, presents fresh analysis of the Constitutional Convention and the Founding Fathers’ emerging and often contentious views of the executive branch. This lecture will focus on how the Founders unwittingly fed the very partisanship they wished to avoid. This program is made possible by funding from the Lowell Institute. Free and Open to the Public
