July 11th marks the 211th anniversary of the duel between Vice-President Aaron Burr and former Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton that cost Hamilton his life.

The Alexander Hamilton Awareness Society (the AHA Society) invites you to the annual gathering on the anniversary of the Burr-Hamilton duel overlooking the cliffs of Weehawken. In light of the recent news to diminish Alexander Hamilton's presence on the $10 bill, 5th great-grandson Douglas Hamilton will speak on his forefather's legacy on the $10 bill. AHA Society Vice-President Nicole Scholet de Villavicencio will also briefly present on Alexander Hamilton's rich history on US currency - including the fact that Hamilton has been on more currency denominations than any other person.

The event will be held at Hamilton Park at 6:00 pm.

Following the gathering at Hamilton Park, there will be a talk on the Burr-Hamilton duel by dueling expert Dr. Joanne Freeman, “Not Throwing Away Any Shots: Understanding the Burr-Hamilton Duel.” Learn more.
