One Neighborhood, Two Towns: How a part of Andover became South Lawrence

Join Andover Historical Society and members of the Lawrence History Center as we explore an area of Andover that was purchased in the 1840’s by the Essex Company and became part of what is now South Lawrence. Learn more about the sale of property in the mid-nineteenth century and how both Andover and South Lawrence were affected by the construction of Interstate 495.  We’re excited to have Lawrence City Councilor Marc LaPlante, and former Lawrence resident and long-time Lawrence History Center volunteer Rick Wentmore join us for this new collaborative neighborhood program.
