Originally part of 4,500-acre Rancho San Miguel, and named for Spanish settler Don Jose Jesus de Noe, Noe Valley was developed in the 1870s by the Horner Brothers, two Mormons originally from the Isle of Jersey in the English Channel. On this walk we will visit both the main commercial area along 24th Street, as well as the residential areas both north and south of 24th Street.
