Innovations and future plans are on the docket for the Newport Historical Society’s Annual Meeting. This year, members of the Society’s staff will take center stage as they focus on the innovations that have brought the Society much success in months past. Ruth Taylor, Executive Director, will also speak about the year ahead.

Society staff members plan to participate in a PechaKucha: a Japanese presentation style in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each. At 6 minutes and 40 seconds in total, this style keeps presentations lively and fast-paced. Staff members will focus on innovative programs and practices introduced throughout the last year that have brought the Society increases in visitation and more visibility. This behind-the-scenes glimpse into daily operations will allow the public to become more familiar with the important work being done to preserve Newport’s rich and unique history.

Executive Director, Ruth Taylor, will also discuss future plans for the Society. With work underway to expand and update the Society’s headquarters at 82 Touro Street, the months ahead promise to bring great changes with them.
