Experience life on the "powwow trail" through a collection of Ivy Vainio's 2011 and 2012 digital photographs. The powwow dancers featured in each of the sixteen photographs are accompanied by a written narrative from the dancers on what it means to dance at powwows. Ivy Vainio is a direct descendent of a Grand Portage Band of Ojibwe member and is very connected to Ojibwe culture, values and beliefs. The exhibit is free. It is on view during museum open hours, May 15-Aug. 18.

The public is invited to meet the artist at a closing reception, Aug. 18, at 11 a.m. The reception will include refreshments, a short program, and a chance to meet the artist.
