Learn about an early international humanitarian relief mission. In 1847, Captain Robert Bennet Forbes sailed a decommissioned naval warship to Ireland, filled with donated clothing and provisions for the starving victims of the Great Potato Famine. Key artifacts and documents from that mission are on temporary display at the Forbes House Museum in Milton, MA.
