Join us for the New-York Historical Society’s inaugural film series, featuring opening remarks by notable directors, writers, actors, and historians. Produced in conjunction with New-York Historical’s exhibition "WWII & NYC," this selection of classic films will show a broad scope of life during and after the most widespread and destructive conflict in human history.

Celebrate the holidays with one of America’s most enduring, classic holiday films. Jimmy Stewart stars as George Bailey, a man who finds love and meaning in his life on Christmas Eve. Directed by Frank Capra. Starring James Stewart, Donna Reed, Henry Travers, and Lionel Barrymore.

SPEAKER BIOS

Mary Owen is the daughter of Donna Reed, star of such films as From Here to Eternity and It's A Wonderful Life, and serves on the board of directors for the Donna Reed Foundation for the Performing Arts. She has introduced her mother's films at such venues as the IFC Theater Center and on Turner Classic Movies. Dale Marsha Gregory (moderator) is the Vice President for Public Programs at the New-York Historical Society.
