Alan Brunelle, life-long Gettysburg student and long time member of the Civil War Roundtable of New Hampshire will present a talk defending the decision by Lee Confederate General Robert E. Lee to launch ‘Pickett’s Charge.’

On July 3, 1863, General Lee planned and ordered 14,000 of his men to cross nearly a mile of open space to attack the Union Army of the Potomac's center, commanded by General George Gordon Meade. The Union was well fortified and waiting.

Commonly called “Pickett’s Charge,” (for Lee’s General George E. Pickett) the controversy continues today.

Mr. Brunelle compelling talk will explain Lee’s reasoning.
