Long time member Alan Brunelle will present a talk on Lee's July 3, 1863 decision at Gettysburg entitled, "In Defense of Pickett's Charge," at the Epping Town Hall presented by the Civil War Roundtable of New Hampshire.

Historians debate so many aspects of the Battle of Gettysburg, but none more-so than the final attack by Confederate General Robert E. Lee in what is commonly called Pickett's Charge (name for George E. Pickett).

It's not easy to see the reasoning behind advancing 14,000 men across an open field against a well protected foe, but Alan will give the reason and explanations for Lee.

Alan Brunelle is a long time member of the CWRT of NH and has been involved in many special guided talks and presentation on the Gettysburg Battlefield. Gettysburg and areas such as the Peach Orchard are of high interest to him.

The Civil War Roundtable of New Hampshire welcomes everyone with an interest in history to come visit us.

Meeting at 7:15, doors open about 6:45pm.
