Abington Rotary Club Presents a Benefit Dinner/Theater Evening Featuring History At Play’s One-Woman Show Honoring the Educational Pioneer and Teacher In Space
Saturday February 29, 2020 at the Abington Senior Center - 5:30 pm
The Abington Rotary Club to host a fund-raising dinner/theater presentation on Saturday, February 29, at the Abington Senior Center, 441 Summer Street.
Judith Kalaora, Founder and Artistic Director of History At Play, has garnered nationwide attention for her living history performances, chronicling the lives of legendary women. Her performances have received accolades from journalists, actors, and historians alike and have earned statewide and national recognition. Now, her acclaimed one-woman performance, CHALLENGER: Soaring with Christa McAuliffe is coming to the Abington Senior Center.
This performance of CHALLENGER: Soaring with Christa McAuliffe features Judith Kalaora, a Framingham, MA native, like Christa, as the educational pioneer and internationally recognized Teacher in Space. Kalaora renews McAuliffe’s legacy in this multi-media immersive performance experience, suitable for all ages. CHALLENGER: Soaring with Christa McAuliffe pays homage to the United States’ Teacher in Space Program and the crew of the NASA space shuttle. This program was honored by the Massachusetts Senate and House of Representatives, and is produced with the support and approval of both the McAuliffe and Corrigan Families.
Tickets for the dinner and theatrical presentation are $30 and are available through the Abington Senior Center, Bemis Pharmacy at 6 Brighton Street in Abington or by sending a request to abingtonrotaryclub@gmail.com. Tickets will also be available at the door, but this event will have limited seating. For more information about this one-time only dinner/theater event see www.abingtonrotaryclub.org/. All funds raised from the event will support the many philanthropic and charitable initiatives of the Abington Rotary Club within the local community.
