Historic Newton Walks: Unearthing 400 Years of History: Newton's Earliest Residents
The landscape surrounding the Durant-Kenrick House and Grounds holds the history of the families who owned the land and lived there for three centuries as well as the history of Native Americans in Newton. Discover the places where archaeologists found evidence of historic structures. Stand beneath trees that remain from the Kenrick family nursery and orchards. Led by a museum professional and archaeologist, the tour will loop through nearby neighborhoods to re-imagine the historic landscape based on archaeological and documentary evidence.

Meet at Durant-Kenrick House and Grounds, 286 Waverley Avenue. Parking is available on Waverley Avenue and on nearby side streets. (Please do not park on the grass next to the driveway.) Please be advised, walking will be not all be on sidewalks.
