Please join us at the Ft. Meadow Association clubhouse (not the Rice Homestead) on Tuesday May 22nd at 7pm for Paul Brodeur's latest presentation! Fort Meadow has been a Marlborough place name since before the formation of the town. It referred to an Indian Fort located near to the stream that intersected the meadow. We will examine a brief history of the Indians that located there, the purchase of the Indian lands, the formation of the dam in the 1840's by the Maynard family, its expansion into a Reservoir by the city of Boston and its later and modern day use as a prime recreational area for both Marlborough and Hudson.
